Book Boyfriend Material: Brick is a werewolf alpha book boyfriend who cares about his family and pack but doesn't care about other people's feelings and never apologizes.
But his new assistant Madison sends him and his wolf into a tailspin of being protective and caring about her feelings.
Which says a lot because he hates humans and goes through assistants almost as quickly as underwear.
Total bad boy who's only a good guy for her (and the kids in his family) vibes.
Readability: Easy to read with minimal grammatical issues.
Themes/Topes: Fated mates. Banter. Billionaire MMC with lower class FMC. Boss/assistant dynamic. FMC with unknown father. Werewolves and vampires. Familial obligation that makes this a forbidden romance.

Synopsis From Author
RULE #1 OF WALL STREET: DON’T HUNT WHAT YOU CANNOT EAT.
I’m the king of the business world. The Alpha of my pack. No one dares challenge me.
Except my new assistant.
She questions me to my face and calls me Big Bad Boss behind my back. When I give her an order, she asks me why, with all my billions, I can’t afford some manners.
Worse, the little human smells like temptation. She dresses to kill, and I want to sink my teeth into her.
One day my control’s going to snap, and a wolf never stops hunting until he’s claimed his prey.
Midnight is book one in the Big Bad Boss trilogy. It features a billionaire boss-hole wolf shifter and his freakishly smart assistant set in the Bad Boy Alpha world created by Renee Rose and Lee Savino.
My Review
If you enjoy the trope where the FMC is human who knows nothing about shifters and a werewolf MMC whose wolf only has eyes for the FMC while his human counterpart knows it could never work between them - you'll probably enjoy this book.
Likes
- Angsty will they or won't they that progresses over time
- Enjoyable banter between the main characters
Dislikes
- Not for you if you only enjoy stand-alone books - this does end in a cliffhanger
- While there are events throughout, not much gets resolved yet
- I wasn't a fan of how the MMC treated the FMC considering what his decision was as the cliffhanger
- Not as enjoyable as other Renee Rose books
I have read so many of Renee Rose's books including the Zandian Masters, Wolf Ridge High, and Chicago Bratva series that I really enjoyed.
My expectations were perhaps a bit high because of this and ultimately my introduction into the Big Bad Boss series fell a bit flat for me.
This is a dual-author book so this could contribute to my issues with the book.
It certainly wasn't a bad book and I look forward to continuing the series but it did take a while for me to get into.
I struggled with reading a few pages or a chapter and losing interest at the beginning.
I wasn't a huge fan of the fact the FMC tried to come off as an activist at the beginning but then was willing to go into the world of Wallstreet where she magically makes six figures just out of college to be able to pay for her brother's tuition and will be able to write a tell-all about what goes on behind the scenes herself.
While her brother's tuition is mentioned throughout the book, her own desire to expose Wall Street seems to fall to the wayside.
Deeper into the book I did really enjoy the banter between the main characters and how our FMC didn't cave to everything the MMC said, even though he is her boss.
The angst buildup between the characters was enjoyable.
We didn't have to wait long for Brick to crack, but I didn't enjoy how he would constantly go back and forth between treating Madi poorly to well.
Then he'd advance their relationship only to immediately cut her off again with no explanation to her. Both certainly got a bit repetitive.
I could understand where he was coming from with his pack constantly giving him crap for trying to choose a human even though his wolf seems to think Madi is his fated mate.
But is Madi really just a human since her father is unknown?
I will admit I wasn't totally happy with the cliffhanger but I am intrigued enough to continue reading as nothing has really been resolved yet.
The spice itself wasn't the best or worst I've ever read. It wasn't overly detailed and a bit lackluster considering what I've read in other Renee Rose books.
I’d recommend Werewolves of Wall Street to those who enjoy alpha-holes who can't make up their mind and who don't mind the MMC not always treating the FMC the best and needing to read multiple books in a series.
