    Book Info

Title: Big Bad Boss: Marked (Werewolves of Wall Street Book 3)

Author: Renee Rose and Lee Savino

    Publication Date: June 13, 2024

Category: Paranormal romance with focus on werewolves

Relationship: Boss/assistant; werewolf MMC/human FMC - M/F (Brick aka Big Bad Boss and Madison aka Madi/Windows)

POV: Told from the POV of both the male and female main characters and briefly side characters

Series or Stand-Alone: This is the third book of the Werewolves of Wall Street series. All three books are published and must be read to get the full story.

    Length: Medium (226 pages)

Ending: This book ties up the trilogy with a happy-for-now engagement.

There will be a novella that expands on their happily ever after.

The series will also continue with another character featured in the book so I imagine we'll read more about Brick and Madi there, too.

Overall Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars

Open or Closed Door: Open door

Spice Level: 3 out of 5 peppers - Several detailed spicy scenes that feature dirty talk and kink on the milder side such as spanking, "little girl" (no daddy mentions), "good girl", boss roleplay, and anal.

The book is more plot-driven with smut sprinkled in. There are more spicy scenes than in the first book.

Get more information on how I choose my ratings for books.

Book Boyfriend Material: Brick is a werewolf alpha book boyfriend who cares about his family and pack but doesn't care about other people's feelings and never apologizes.

But his now former assistant Madison has him and his wolf into a tailspin of being protective, caring about her feelings, and so. many. apologies.

Which says a lot because he hates humans and has next to no patience for most other people. But what is the ultimate cost of his feelings?

Total bad boy who's only a good guy for her (and the kids in his family) vibes.

Readability: Easy to read with minimal grammatical issues.

Themes/Topes: Fated mates. Banter. Billionaire MMC with lower class FMC. Boss/assistant dynamic. FMC finding out who her father is. Werewolves and vampires. A familial obligation that makes this a forbidden romance.

Possible Triggers: Note that all triggers may not be listed here and could potentially spoil parts of the book. I always suggest visiting the author’s site for more information if triggers are a concern for you.

    Synopsis From Author

RULE #3 OF WALL STREET: NEVER BACK DOWN

No one can know I've claimed the human as my mate.

The enemies are at the gates–one wrong move and I’ll lose it all. My world will never be safe for her.

If my pack finds out that I’ve mated a human, they’ll revolt. The fractures will grow deeper than ever and we'll be picked apart one by one.

The lives of everyone I love hang in the balance.

Madison may bear my mark, but she isn’t content to remain my dirty little secret.

Now I must choose–love or my pack.

    Either way, one will die.

    My Review

Brick has now marked Madi so things should be a lot smoother sailing now, right?

    Likes

    • We get to read the thoughts of some of the more interesting side characters
    • The story finally progresses with more answers

    Dislikes

    • Main characters continue to not communicate but instead work things out with spicy time
    • Didn't care for how Madi saved Brick and the pack
    • The story ultimately felt like it dragged out too long

The pace of the final book in the trilogy felt like it finally picked up and several different events certainly transpired.

I enjoyed seeing the POV of some of the other characters, like the seer and Brick's mom, who I honestly found a bit more interesting than the main characters.

However, at the same time, many of same things kept happening: the other wolves looking down at Madi, Brick seeming to commit to Madi only to leave her behind with little to no explanation, Madi trying to stand her ground but ultimately caving easily, having sex instead of communicating, and both characters constantly questioning if things will work between them.

Because of this, I ultimately feel like the series featuring Madi and Brick could have been just two books, if not a single book.

That said, I don't regret my time reading this trilogy and was mostly satisfied with how things got tied up at the end.

It was nice when Brick finally decided to not hide Madi like a dirty little secret but he gets into a bit of trouble and Madi has to bail him out - and her method was definitely on the ridiculous side - but at least the other pack members finally respected her.

It would have been nice to read a bit more about Brick and Madi's lives after getting the pack and Adulwulf issues straightened out.

However, they got their happy for now, and with an upcoming novella and the series continuing with Billy, I'm sure we'll get to see more of the characters.

There were a number more spicy scenes this time around that I thought were a bit better written.

However, it did get tiresome that being intimate seemed to be their method for the resolution of conflict instead of communicating.

I’d recommend Werewolves of Wall Street to those who enjoy paranormal and billionaire romance and don't mind reading a series. I'd give the overall series a 3.5 stars out of 5.
